Why Ascalon?

Firstly we have a fully trained canine behaviourist, BSc (Hons) Applied Animal Behaviour, on-site and as a small business we are able to provide and give our full attention to just a small number of dogs. We are licensed and inspected by East Suffolk Council and have a ‘Five Star Rating’.

We assess and tailor your dog’s day dependant on their age, nature and energy levels. Every dog has a daily walk in the countryside or an adventure to the coast.

Our Daycare always offers a healthy balance of exercise, play, mental stimulisation, enrichment and of course rest in one of our comfy heated and monitored kennels.

We believe ‘Enrichment’ is equally important for a dogs mental health and wellbeing. For dogs enjoying full day care or holiday boarding we set aside time with your dog providing opportunities to exercise their bodies and minds with a variety of skills such as problem solving.

Day care from 8.00am to 6pm 

With today’s modern life more people are working from home but still find it difficult to spend the time they would wish with their pet. We recognise this and want to offer full day care at Ascalon.

Every dog that comes to Ascalon Canine Care has a daily walk either in the countyside or an adventure to the coast. Our daily routine allows ‘down time’ as this is equally important.

Afternoon periods we encourage play and enrichment activities in the garden, such as scent work, hide and seek, puzzle-feeders. Perhaps learning some new tricks with reward based training too!

Secure Carring Enviroment

Ascalon offers a secure carring environment where your dog will be made to feel part of the family. All boarding dogs are offered the same facilities and routine as Daycare dogs, including going for a countryside walk or adventure to the coast followed by important down time. In between times are filled with play and enrichment in the garden. Perhaps learning some new tricks with reward based training too! An assessment is required by us prior to any stay for any dog.

We have a dedicated building which is heated with comfy beds, individual feed and water areas, security camera monitored direct to our mobiles and a ‘smart’ smoke detector alerting our mobile should any problem arise. The entire area and garden is secure at all times and your dog/s are never left alone.

Planning for Holiday Boarding?

We also offer ‘Holiday Boarding’ for when you are unable to take your dogs with you. This decision is never taken lightly as our pets are family. Our aim is to make your dog feel part of our family and to give them a holiday they can remember too!

Helen is a registered clinical animal behaviourist with the APBC together with a BSc (Hons) in Applied Animal Behaviour and is available for a Behaviour Consultation to discuss any issues you and your dog/s might be experiencing.
